Our Core Values are not just for the classroom—they are life skills! We encourage our parents and carers to help reinforce these important character traits at home.

How You Can Help

  • Ask a Character Question: Every day, ask your child: "Which Core Values Character did you see in action today?" Did they see Honest Hana when a friend owned up to a mistake? Did they act like Valiant Valeria by trying something new?

  • Use the Language: Use the values in your conversations. Instead of saying, "Be nice," try saying, "That shows great Empathy, just like Elliot!"

  • Celebrate Diversity: Discuss where our characters come from—from Kenya to Peru —to celebrate the rich global diversity which makes our world so interesting.

Tariq: The Teamwork Hero!

 

Tariq’s Value: TOGETHERNESS

Tariq is an awesome boy who lives in Kenya, Africa. He knows the best secret for success: We achieve more when we share ideas and support each other!  Tariq's superpower is making sure everyone knows they are strongest when they work TOGETHER.

 

How Tariq Helps You

Tariq is always the first to offer help. If you're finding something difficult, Tariq won't just tell you the answer. He wants to help you learn!  He learned in Kenya that when we share our hands and our ideas, things go much faster and are way more fun!

 

Tariq’s Top Tip: Use Every Strength

Tariq is a natural cheerleader for collaboration. He focuses on using everyone's unique talents.  He is cooperative and makes sure the whole team is happy and cheered on. He focuses on using everyone's unique talents.  He truly believes that every piece and every person is needed for the best result.

 

What We Learn from Tariq

Mr. Kofi, Tariq's teacher, says that Tariq shows everyone that teamwork, or collaboration, isn't just about finishing something quickly. It's about building something much better than you could have built on your own!

Hana: The Honesty Hero!

 

Hana’s Value: HONESTY

Hana is a thoughtful girl who comes from Jordan, in the Middle East. She believes that HONESTY means more than just telling the truth—it means acting responsibly towards others and the world around us!  Hana's superpower is making sure she does what's right and cares for our world. She shows this every day through small, reliable actions.

 

How Hana Shows Her Strength

Hana is always the first to choose the responsible path. She is truthful and morally strong, which is why she wears her thoughtful glasses—she thinks hard about the best choice!  She learned in Jordan that when you are honest, you show real strength by consistently caring for your world and the people in it.

Hana always chooses to do what's right, showing real strength and responsibility. Her actions help build a world where everyone can be trusted.

Ravi: The Respectful Hero!

Ravi’s Value: RESPECT

Ravi's family comes from Gujarat, India. He carries a calm and accepting spirit, and he knows the most important secret for a happy classroom: We all belong, and everyone matters!  Ravi's superpower is making sure everyone shows RESPECT and always feels valued and safe.

 

How Ravi Shows He Cares

Ravi is a natural role model because he is calm, accepting, and patient. He shows deep consideration for others' backgrounds.  He teaches us that true respect is about thoughtful listening and never interrupting.  Ravi reminds us that we are all different, and that's exactly what makes us interesting and special.

 

Ravi’s Top Tip: Making Everyone Belong

Ravi is the kindest friend to newcomers. When a new pupil arrives, Ravi is the first to gently invite them into an activity.  He uses quiet attention and kind words to make sure every voice and background in the classroom feels heard so everyone knows that they matter.

Ravi shows us that Respect isn't about agreeing all the time. It's about having a calm, accepting heart, listening without interrupting, and making sure that everyone feels they belong.

Iqra: The Inspiring Hero!

Iqra’s Value: INSPIRATION

Iqra's family is from Morocco, a vibrant country in North Africa. She is full of colourful energy and uses her bright imagination to inspire others!  Iqra's superpower is showing INSPIRATION and making sure we lift others as we strive to be our best.

 

How Iqra Lifts Spirits

Iqra is enthusiastic, creative, and a source of positive energy for everyone. She never accepts "I can't!" as an answer. When classmates get stuck on a difficult task, she encourages them to not give up and tells them the best minds are the ones who try again.

 

Iqra’s Top Tip: Turn Problems into Puzzles

If someone is frustrated because they can’t seem to perfect a new skill Iqra offers creative ideas.  She helps them reframe the obstacle as an exciting puzzle they can solve! Her enthusiasm lifts the whole class's spirits. She shows everyone that inspiration is about using your positive energy and it helps others discover their own strength and intelligence.

Iqra shows us that being your best isn't just about what you achieve; it's about how you use your positive energy to help others reach their potential too.

Valeria: The Valiant Hero!

Valeria’s Value: COURAGE

Valeria's family is from Peru, and she carries the brave spirit of Latin America! She knows that to succeed, we must be brave and courageous, and we must aim high.

Valeria's superpower is COURAGE and showing her determined mind by never letting anything stop her. 

 

How Valeria Faces Challenges

Valeria is courageous, determined, and strong-willed. She shows her bravery by always taking on the hardest tasks.  Whether she is in the classroom or the sports field (where it is harder for her due to her prosthetic leg), she focuses on her determination and never takes an easier route. She faces the challenge head-on.  She stands tall and speaks clearly, even if her voice is shaking a little inside.

 

Valeria’s Top Tip: Aim High

Valeria shows the class that being valiant is about facing any challenge with a determined mind.  She never lets anything stop her from aiming high and reaching her goals!

 

What We Learn from Valeria

Valeria teaches us that Courage isn't about not feeling scared.  It's about facing the fear and moving forward with a determined mind to build your strength and achieve your highest goals.

Elliot: The Empathy Hero!

 

Elliot’s Value: EMPATHY

Elliot is a gentle, warm-hearted boy from England, in the UK. He is super observant and notices everything about the people around him! He knows that we are always kind; our words and actions have power.  Elliot's superpower is practicing EMPATHY every day.

 

How Elliot Shows Kindness

Elliot is kind, sensitive, and comforting. He doesn't wait for big problems; he sees the small signs of sadness or frustration.  He knows that sometimes, even small things can make you feel bad.

 

Elliot’s Top Tip: Acknowledge Feelings

Elliot shows everyone that empathy means using your actions and words to be kind.  He makes the world a warmer place by simply acknowledging others' feelings and showing them, they are not alone.

Elliot teaches us that Empathy is about seeing the world through someone else's eyes and using your power to be kind.
